The Dealer Has a Hand of 10
When you read up on the rules of Blackjack you’ll read many different theories about how you should play with/against the dealer. One of the most popular is that you should assume when playing Blackjack that the dealers cards make up a hand of 10. So if your hands come to 11 or more, you should fold. Another theory based around the number 10 is that if the dealer shows you a card that is a low number, you should assume there other card is a ten… So if they have a 4 of hearts, you should assume the total number of their hand is 14.
Both of these are just theories and to be honest with you the mathematics doesn’t even really back you up because there is more chance of them not having the card you think they have than actually having.
Never Play With A Bad Player
It is a common misconception that if you are placed on a table alongside a bad player then you have lowered your chances of doing well. However,statistically this is not the case at all. People believe that having a bad player on the table ruins the flow of the game and so you are much more likely to be thrown off course and lose. As long as you concentrate on the game, the cards that have be dealt and your own cards then you always have just as good of a chance of winning as anytime.
The Order in Which You Play Matters
Many people believe that the order of the cards is sacred and that you shouldn’t join half way through a game or that you shouldn’t choose the last position of the table.
The truth is that where you are doesn’t really affect your chances of winning. The only thing that affects your chances of winning is concentration on the game, knowing the rules and making the right decisions. The best chance you have of winning is making sure that you know the rules inside out!
Counting Cards is Illegal
